Our task was to produce an incense holder shaped as a topographic map of the area around Lake Synevyr — exactly as the client had envisioned. We made three prototypes: in wood, ceramic, and duralumin. Before production, we typically make prototypes, which can be produced from a range of materials.

While testing the wooden prototype, we researched and tested various solutions to protect the wood from smoldering: special treatment substances and a fire-retardant varnish. Following testing of the various prototype options, the duralumin solution was put into production.

Production involved creating a digital 3D model, with the finished pieces produced using CNC milling of duralumin, which renders complex topographic geometry with jeweler-level precision while preserving the material's solidity, cool elegance, and tactile appeal.

The finished pieces were then branded with the client's logo.
